1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Ladybug App or related Ladybug services, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. Purpose & Medical Disclaimer
Ladybug is intended for informational, educational and general wellness purposes only. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional about health concerns or before making significant dietary or lifestyle changes.
Using Ladybug does not create a patient–practitioner relationship. Nutrient calculations, progress indicators and food suggestions are estimates based on the information available to the app, including food data, portion information and details you choose to enter.
Suggestions such as foods or meals that may help next are general nutrition guidance generated from information such as your logged meals, nutrient progress, saved preferences and Ladybug's recommendation logic. They are not medical recommendations and should not be relied upon for diagnosis, treatment or emergency decisions.
3. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for providing reasonably accurate information when using features that depend on your entries, including weight, meals, portions, supplements and dietary preferences. Inaccurate or incomplete information may affect nutrient calculations and recommendations.
You may not use Ladybug in a way that violates applicable law, infringes the rights of others, interferes with the service, or breaches these Terms.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activity carried out through your account.
4. Free Access, Premium Access & Billing
The Ladybug app requires a registered account. Registered users receive Free access unless their account has an active Premium entitlement. Premium access may be provided through a paid subscription or, in some cases, through a gift, promotion, complimentary entitlement or another authorised access arrangement. The features included in Free and Premium may evolve over time.
A. Direct / Stripe subscriptions
Where Premium is purchased through direct billing, payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not receive or store your complete card details.
Subscription-management options may be provided through Ladybug and/or Stripe. Direct paid subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the next billing date, subject to the terms shown at purchase.
Deleting your Ladybug account and cancelling a subscription are separate processes. Where the in-app deletion flow states that it will request cancellation of a linked direct subscription, we will make that request; you should still verify the resulting subscription status with Stripe where appropriate.
If Ladybug offers a free trial, introductory period, promotional price or similar offer, the duration, eligibility, renewal price and conditions shown when the offer is made apply. Changing plans during a trial may end the remaining trial and trigger a charge where this is stated at the time of the change.
Except where required by applicable law, paid periods already started are not normally prorated or refunded.
B. Apple App Store subscriptions
Premium subscriptions purchased through the iOS app are billed and managed by Apple through your Apple ID. Ladybug does not collect or store your payment-card details for App Store purchases.
You can view, change or cancel an App Store subscription through your Apple subscription settings. Apple's terms govern billing, renewal, cancellation and refund processing.
Deleting your Ladybug account does not automatically cancel an App Store subscription. If you no longer want an Apple subscription to renew, you must cancel it through Apple.
Any App Store trial, introductory price or promotional offer is subject to the terms displayed by Apple at purchase. Requests for App Store refunds must be made through Apple.
C. Gift, promotional or complimentary Premium access
Premium access may occasionally be provided without a recurring paid subscription, for example through a gift, promotional entitlement or complimentary access. Its duration and conditions may differ from a standard paid subscription and will be communicated where applicable.
D. When cancellation takes effect
For recurring paid subscriptions, cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless Apple or Stripe states otherwise for the applicable purchase. Premium access ordinarily remains available until that date.
5. Right of Withdrawal (EU/UK Consumers)
If you reside in the EU or the UK, you may have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days. Where applicable, we may ask for your express request to begin supplying a paid service during that period and for any acknowledgements required by law.
If you wish to exercise a statutory withdrawal right, contact us at ladybug@theladybugapp.com. Any refund or amount due will be handled in accordance with applicable consumer law and, for App Store transactions, the applicable platform process. Your separate ability to cancel future renewal remains unaffected.
6. Content & Intellectual Property
All content provided through Ladybug, including recipes, Journal entries, tips, graphics, icons, photographs and other materials, is owned by or licensed to Ladybug App unless otherwise stated. Content may be made available through the app, the Ladybug website or related Ladybug services.
You may use Ladybug content for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, redistribute, commercially publish or otherwise reuse Ladybug content without permission, except where permitted by law.
7. User Content & Interactions
If you create or submit content for use within your account, such as custom meals or meal information, you retain ownership of your original content but grant Ladybug the limited rights necessary to store, process and display it in order to provide the service.
Ladybug may provide account-based interactions such as favourites, saved content, preferences, likes or other limited engagement with recipe and Journal content.
8. Notifications & In-App Indicators
Ladybug may send optional push notifications about new recipes, Journal posts, feature updates or other relevant in-app content. The app may also display unread markers, badges or similar indicators to help you identify new content.
You can manage push-notification permissions through your device settings and, where available, through in-app controls.
9. Account Suspension, Deletion & Termination
We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary if you materially breach these Terms, misuse the service, create security risk or where we are required to do so by law.
You may delete your Ladybug account using the available in-app account-deletion process or another method we provide. Account deletion and subscription cancellation are separate processes. Apple App Store subscriptions must be cancelled through Apple where required. Direct subscriptions are handled through Ladybug and Stripe as described in Section 4.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties & Liability
Ladybug is provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee specific health, nutritional or wellbeing results, uninterrupted availability, or that every food or nutrient estimate will be complete or error-free.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Ladybug App is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary and applicable European Union law. Mandatory consumer-protection rights available in your country of residence remain unaffected. Any dispute will be handled by the courts having jurisdiction under applicable law.
12. Modifications
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to Ladybug, our business practices or applicable law. When a change is material, we may notify you through the app, by email or through another appropriate method.
We may require you to review and accept an updated legal version before continuing to use some or all of the service. The current version and effective date will be identified in the Terms.
